Your Website Doesn’t Have to Be Fancy to Work

You don’t need the “perfect” logo. You just need to start.

🎉 Website of the Week: SandraTerry.com 🎉

We launched Shandra Terry’s new website this week for her new public speaking company, Standing Ovations. She’s one of those speakers who literally (and figuratively) moves a room.

She’s been booked by Adidas, the Girl Scouts, and universities across Oregon and Washington, check out her client list here.

Now her website finally speaks to what she was born to do.

Starting with What You’ve Got

Shandra didn’t come to me with a big budget. Her daughter made her logo, which honestly made it even more meaningful. We kept it simple. Tried a few homepage layouts.

And when something didn’t feel right, we gave ourselves an hour to figure it out, then moved on.

Because here’s the truth. The “perfect” shade of pink is not going to make or break your business.

Let it be good enough. Done is better than stuck.

Here’s what we explored:

What we published:

Clean, Personal, and Focused

We didn’t use custom graphics or fancy effects. Just her photo and her story.

During one of our calls, she mentioned finding old photos from her Rosa Parks monologue. That moment stuck with me. Images don’t just fill space. They carry meaning. They show people what you’re all about.

A Quick DIY Tip

No brand photos? No problem.

If you’re comfortable with tech, here’s an in-depth YouTube tutorial (not by me) to create clean, professional (AI) images using your own photos.
